Cat's stomach flu

Smokey (yesterday) and Chewy (today) have contracted a virus which causes inflammation of the intestines. Fortunately, nothing serious, no fever. But boy it was a hell of a fur cleaning! Specially with long cat hair, we've spend the morning cleaning and desinfecting. The rotavirus is typically transmitted through contact with contaminated fecal matter. This nasty virus is the leading cause of diarrhea and gastrointestinal upset in cats. For Smokey it lasted just a few hours, hope it won't last long for Chewy either. While waiting for the vet's appointment give lots of water to your cat and avoid food for a few hours.
