Play it like Maui

It's caturday! Enjoy it while spending some quality time with your cats. When you have several cats like I do, it means playing with the 3 of them. It doesn't necessarily mean at the same time (as Princess Chewy is exclusive and doesn't want to share her game buddy with the other 2). It is very important for several reasons that you play with them. Cats , like humans, need to exercise. Otherwise they will be load up with energy and will go nuts running in the house. You'll think they are crazy, well they just need to blow off some steam. Playing with them will make them (and you) more fit, you'll also reinforce (or build) this special bond between you two.

There are some ground rules to follow when playing with your feline friend.

Don’t use your hands as toys

Wiggling fingers are definitely funny and easy. Why do you need a toy when you've got your hands? This is what's going to happen if you keep on playing with your fingers : you send the wrong message to your cat that biting flesh is an acceptable behavior. Whenever your cat wants some affection, or your attention, or play with you, she'll jump on you without warnings. She’ll lock her eyes on your hand and will bite it and scratch it. I'm pretty sur you want to avoid all the bleeding and the pain. Then every time your cat wants to play with your finger, use a toy to distract her from her previous target.

Let your cat win

Nobody enjoys playing a game if they never get a chance to win. It just leads to frustration so let your furry friend win from time to time.

Don’t dangle the toy in the cat’s face

Have you ever seen a prey in its right mind jumping straight to the cat's claws?

Of course not, so when using the toy,make it act as a scary little prey. Your cat will thank you for it.
